Cannoli Sofa

For this project Claudia and Christian were gifted an insightful look into a culture not previously explored. Romanias rich decorative heritage melded with a brutalist intensity seen in architecture across the country, guided the pair in creating their introductory designs for Romanian company Arbore.

The Cannoli range highlights the core wooden elements so often hidden behind upholstery and celebrates the materiality and form it could create. Cannoli challenges the look of traditional sofa construction by externally wrapping the cushioned elements in an exposed experimental bent oak structure, utilising the signature oak used by Arbore in a new and innovative way.
